Also known as the
Ceramic town, Khurja is a small city in Bulandshahr district,
state of Uttar Pradesh. Located around 90 km from Delhi, this
city used to supply a large portion of the ceramic handicrafts
and pottery used in the country. The pottery work done here are
available in a variety of simple and earthen colors like orange,
brown, and terracotta worked on to a white background.
Ceramic napkin rings and other artifacts are hand painted and
highly renowned in Khurja. Around 400 factory outlets are there
in this town. Along with hand crafted, these artifacts are
unique in their own way. They are very reasonably priced.
Basically, Khurja is famous for ceramic crafts, also regarded as
a bustling centre of ceramic activity and a trip to this small
city is a must for every pottery lover.
